Public Law, Chapter 162(LD 550):
All single-family dwellings and multi-apartment buildings sold in the state and newly constructed single-family dwellings must have at least one CO detector in an area within or giving access to a bedroom. (Effective date: October 31, 2009)
Public Law, Chapter 553 (LD 1744):
For newly constructed and converted hotels, motels, inns, bed and breakfasts, CO detectors are required to be installed. In addition, fraternity houses, sorority houses, and dormitories affiliated with private or public schools or private or public postsecondary institutions must install CO detectors in newly constructed, restored, or converted structures. (Effective date: August 1, 2012)
