New Jersey Statutes Annotated §52:27D-133.3 to 133.5:
Single- and multi-family dwellings built or substantially rehabilitated after the effective date must have CO alarms installed. (Effective date: January 1, 2010)
New Jersey Statuts Annotated 55:13B-6.1:
Every unit of dwelling space in a rooming or boarding house shall be equipped with one or more carbon monoxide sensor devices
Requires the Commisioner of Community Affairs to promulgate rules for installation and placement of CO detection devices in every building that contains a CO-emitting source, including existing buildings.
