Utah Administrative Code 26A-5-204:
For buildings classified as Group R-2, R-3, R-4, or I-1 occupancies, CO alarms must be installed on each habitable level of a dwelling unit or sleeping unit equipped with fuel-burning appliances.

SB 58:
Requires that CO detection systems be installed according to NFPA 720 in new and existing buildings that contain Group E (Educational) occupancies that have fuel-burning appliances, fireplace or furnace in accordance with IFC. Each CO detection system will received its primary source of power from the building, with battery back-up.
